This sounds ridicules doesn’t it? And, I’ll probably be put on a no-fly list just for writing this article. In all seriousness, officials at Kansas City Airport tell me they are required to search anyone wearing cargo shorts. Seemed really strange since I flew out of Greenville wearing cargo shorts four days earlier and I wasn’t publically molested at that time.
This is how it went down in Kansas City:
Two people ahead of me; a lady walks through and the TSA guy pays NO attention to her. Next a guy walks through and the TSA guy wants to search him.
Passenger: “Why? I didn’t set off any alarms.”
TSA Guy: “Just because.”
Passenger: “Well why didn’t you search the lady ahead of me?”
TSA Guy: “She’s a lady and I’m a guy, so I’m not allowed to search her.”
Passenger: “Then why didn’t you call a lady to search her?”
TSA Guy: “I’m searching you because you’re wearing cargo shorts. We now have to search everyone wearing cargo shorts.”
TSA guy pats him down, then I’m next… and I also happen to be wearing cargo shorts.
The TSA guy puts his hand up into my crotch and I just couldn’t help it, I let out a loud, “WHOA!” and jumped back. I then refused to let him touch me.
TSA guy then threatened me with a supervisor. I chuckled and said, “Dude, you’re not putting your hands there again.”
TSA guy: “This is no laughing matter.”
I wanted to say, “Yes it is, this security is nothing but a big joke,” but I didn’t say that and I still refused to let him touch me so he brought in backup.
The supervisor was nicer, only patted my pockets which still greatly irritated me. Told him they should inform people if cargo shorts are no longer allowed, because if I had known, I certainly wouldn’t have worn them.
Incidentally, if I really wanted to conceal something, I would wear tube socks under blue jeans, not drop something I’m trying to hide into the pockets of cargo shorts. Watch now, they will start searching everyone wearing tube socks and blue jeans.
The thing is I don’t know that I believe the TSA guy about the cargo shorts. I think these idiots are just making up rules as they go along. The Keystone Cops were competent compared to these unqualified, uneducated (in law enforcement), government bureaucrats. Most of these people searching us aren’t even law enforcement. Why is it they are allowed to put their hands wherever they want and search us without probable cause? I’m sorry; he made up probable cause… cargo shorts…
