Crossing Kiawah Island Full Marathon Finish Line
This was the December 2004 Kiawah Island Full Marathon (26.2 miles). I'm amazed at how many people ask if the dog in the picture ran the whole thing with me. That's Truman, he's a Pekingese and he's a sprinter, not a distance runner. He was kind enough to jump on the course with 100 yards to go and pull me down the final stretch.
I admit, I've been slack with my events over the past year. Mostly, it has been due to one injury after another. The past few months have been particularly taxing as a severe back injury continues to plague me. I've had many days I could hardly walk, much less run.
Please save any lectures - I recovered before, and I'll recover again... At which point I will again list the running, cycling and kayak events I participate in.
